This 2025/2026 marks 101 years that The Youngstown Playhouse has provided community theatre to Youngstown and the surrounding areas. This season’s line-up continues to bring a variety of genres to the stage with a mix of classics and contemporary shows that will take audiences through a full range of emotions: love, mystery, adventure, joy, and hope.

“We tell stories that connect us, that let us walk in someone else’s shoes and illuminate the human spirit. There’s nothing better than entertaining people and making them laugh or cry.”

– Dr. John Cox, Board President

ABOUT THE SHOW

Fade in: the open ocean, 1974. Filming is delayed… again. The lead actors – theatre veteran Robert Shaw and young Hollywood hotshots Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider – are crammed into a too-small boat, entirely at the mercy of foul weather and a faulty mechanical co-star. Alcohol flows, egos collide, and tempers flare on a chaotic voyage that just might lead to cinematic magic… if it doesn’t sink them all. Step aboard the Orca and into a profound dive behind the scenes of the making of Jaws.
