GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity that will take place on November 29, 2022. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Giving Tuesday is one of the biggest giving days of the entire year. This year we have two options for our patrons to support The Playhouse. Help us replace our stage floor by giving via the donation form below. Also, between Nov. 29 and Dec. 31, The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will match every donation made to the Joseph E. Scarvell Youth Theatre Endowment Fund, up to $2,000. At the end of the campaign, any remaining funds in the $50,000 pool will be divided between every nonprofit that received a donation – whether it was 1 donation or 100.

Please consider supporting one of these causes this giving season!

Help Replace our Stage Floor for Giving Tuesday

Over the years, the main stage at the Youngstown Playhouse has provided entertainment and educational development for the citizens of Youngstown and surrounding regions. More recently, the need for new flooring on the main stage has become a priority. The masonite has not been replaced since 2009 which causes difficulties when changing scenery and moving objects during productions. Please consider supporting the Youngstown Playhouse and our efforts to replace the flooring on the main stage!

The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will be Matching Gifts given to The Joseph Scarvell Youth Theatre Endowment Fund

The Joseph E. Scarvell Youth Theatre Endowment Fund was originally established to honor the legacy of the longest serving member of the Youngstown Playhouse. Joe Scarvell was an advocate for the Youngstown Playhouse and mentored generations of artists throughout his lifetime. The endowment supports the activities of The Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theatre and educational programming. Your support of this fund directly impacts the educational development of the youth in and around Youngstown.
