YOUNGSTOWN, OH; (August 22, 2024) The Youngstown Playhouse announces auditions for Puffs or 7 Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic. Auditions will be held September 4th and September 5th, 4:00 – 6:00pm in the Moyer Room of the Youngstown Playhouse.

Cast requirements: Teens aged 10 through 17 to play major lead roles, adults to play teachers and various other roles. Actors should be prepared to read from the script. Rehearsal times are yet to be determined, but will typically run Mondays to Thursdays, time will be based on the availability of the cast and crew. Performances will take place on October 25 and October 26 at 7:30pm and October 27 at 2:30pm on the Main Stage at the Youngstown Playhouse.

Puffs an original play by Matt Cox is a parody of the Harry Potter book series by J. K. Rowling, but from the perspective of the Puffs, who were inspired by the Hogwart’s House, Hufflepuff. Puffs is about three potential heroes who are just trying to make it through magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside those students, are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning loyal outsiders, with a thing for badgers. Their epic quest takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.
