YOUNGSTOWN, OH (February 16, 2026): Tickets are now on sale for The Youngstown PLayhouse’s highly anticipated production of Nicky Silver’s The Lyons. Directed by Connor Bezeredi, The Lyons will be the first performance produced by The Playhouse in their new performance space on Boardman Street in Downtown Youngstown. This welcomed addition to the line up of venues at The Youngstown Playhouse comes as a result of an exciting partnership agreement between The Playhouse and Ballet Western Reserve.

Many long-time Youngtown theatre-goers may be familiar with this 150 seat space on the third floor of the historic Morley building, the current home of the Ballet Western Reserve studios. The Playhouse is excited to begin performing in this space that serves as a perfect middle ground between their 75 seat Moyer Room and 450 seat Main Stage, both located in their facility on Playhouse Lane, just off of Glenwood Avenue. Audience members of The Lyons can expect to see a display detailing the major renovations that will be coming to the performance space in the coming months that are expected to be completed by The PLayhouse’s production of The Shark is Broken in June. Nicky Silver’s The Lyons is a moving, thrilling, and poignant contemporary dramatic comedy in which The Lyons family must grapple with the impending death of its patriarch, Ben. When Ben Lyons’ wife, Rita, and their grown children gather to say goodbye, they learn that despite being a family, each of them is utterly isolated. Afraid of closeness and afraid of solitude, they are propelled into foreign territory – human connection. Director Connor Bezeredi has assembled a cast of Youngstown’s best including Molly Galano, Terry Shears, Eric McCrea, Jeanine Rees, Donovan Rubante, and Christine Duster. 

The Lyons runs at The Playhouse Downtown for six performances from March 20-29, 2026. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30pm and Sunday performaces are at 2:30pm.
