THE YOUNGSTOWN PLAYHOUSE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR PASS OVER

Youngstown, OH (December 15, 2022): The Youngstown Playhouse has announced auditions for the production of Pass Over. Open auditions will be held on December 21st and 22nd from 6-8 pm in the Front Room at The Youngstown Playhouse.

Pass Over, written by Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu, takes the audience into the lives of two African American males who spend day and night on the curbside under a street lamp post passing the time, and hoping that maybe today will be different. As they dream of their promised land, a stranger wanders into their space with his own agenda and causes unnecessary trouble. Emotional and lyrical, Pass Over exposes the raw spirit of these young men stuck in a cycle just looking for a way out.

Seeking: 2 African American males 18-25 years old and 1 white male 25-45 years old.

The creative team is led under the direction of Dr. Lundeana M. Thomas. Rehearsals will begin in February 2023. Technical rehearsals will occur the week of April 10, and performances will take place April 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23.

The Youngstown Playhouse is committed to an inclusive casting process and encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities to submit. Auditions will take place in The Moyer Room inside The Youngstown Playhouse at 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown, Ohio. More information is available at youngstownplayhouse.org/audition.
