YOUNGSTOWN, OH (January 6, 2025): The Youngstown Playhouse has announced auditions for the Youth Theatre Production of The Lightning Thief:  Theatre for Young Audiences Edition.  Auditions will be held at The Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Glenwood Ave. Youngstown, OH 44511, Monday, January 20 and Tuesday, January 21, 6 – 8PM, with call-backs on Thursday, January 23, 6 – 8 PM. The Lightning Thief will be presented on the  Playhouse Main Stage on March 28, 29, and 30, 2025. There will be school performances in addition to Hearts for the Arts tickets and Flex Pass tickets available. 

Buckle up for a thrilling adventure in this musical adaptation of the hit book as Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he’s a demigod, marks on a quest with his friends to retrieve Zeus’s lightning bolt and prevent a war among the gods. This electrifying musical is packed with humor, heart, and epic mythical encounters.

Musical Style – Pop/Rock, Contemporary Broadway: Auditioners will need to sing and do choreography – fight call will be at the call-backs. You should bring tracks and/or sheet music. Singing wise, a 32 bar cut/ one and a half minute cut of a song in the style of the show is preferred.

Cast size – any gender 10 yrs and up including adults to play some of the older gods.
