
THE YOUNGSTOWN PLAYHOUSE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR THE FINAL SHOW OF THE 100TH SEASON, ALMOST MAINE
YOUNGSTOWN, OH (May 2, 2025): The Youngstown Playhouse announces the final segment of the free Theatrical Workshops. In the fall, a Playwriting Workshop and two types of Acting Classes were held. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize winners of the Playwriting Workshop were announced in March 2025. These winners along with 3 Honorable Mention award winners will present stage readings of their plays on 2 evenings: Wednesday, June 18th at the McGuffey Center and Thursday, June 19th at the Youngstown Playhouse from 6pm to 8pm each evening.
The following New Works will be presented on June 18th and 19th. Breaking Barriers by Yvonne Burt Carter; It’s Time by Ramona Austin; Murder In A Small Town: When Secrets Kill by Torah Adams-Lewis; Give Them What They Want: Give Them What They Need by Melvin L. North, Jr.; Angel’s Song by Ariel Alli; Weary in Well Doing by Michelle A. Day; and Deliverance Is Available To Me by Sherry A. Franklin-Berry.
Auditions will take place at The McGuffey Center located at 1649 Jacob’s Road, Youngstown, OH and the Youngstown Playhouse located at 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown, OH beginning Saturday, May 3rd, 11am to 3pm and Monday through Wednesday, May 4-6, from 6:00pm – 8:30pm. Anyone interested should attend. Readings, poetry, songs, and lines from the plays will be provided to determine the best role for each person auditioning.
