THE YOUNGSTOWN PLAYHOUSE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR "THE DAY THEY SHOT JOHN LENNON"
Youngstown, OH (July 29, 2022): The Youngstown Playhouse has announced auditions for the fall production of The Day They Shot John Lennon. Open auditions will be held on August 28th and 29th from 6-8 pm in the Moyer Room at The Youngstown Playhouse. Written by James McLure, The Day They Shot John Lennon is a powerful story reliving the day The Beatles songwriter and musician, John Lennon, was assassinated. A group of strangers meet at the location of his murder to reminisce on his life with humorous and moving anecdotes. The play is set in December of 1980 when the songs of his era took on unfortunate new meanings.
Seeking actors 18 years or older. Actors should come prepared to read from the script. All speaking parts will be provided.
The creative team is led under the direction of Frank Martin. Rehearsals will begin Sunday, September 25 with a read-through and cast meet and greet. Technical rehearsals will occur the week of November 7, and performances will take place November 11th, 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th and 20th.
