THE YOUNGSTOWN PLAYHOUSE INTRODUCES THE "HEARTS FOR ARTS" PROGRAM

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO (September 20,2024): In celebrating it’s 100th season as a community theater, the Youngstown Playhouse is giving back to the community. “We are proud of the work we have done to entertain and educate our audiences through the years and want to continue reaching out to new audiences. The arts provide so much for the community and we are thrilled to open our doors to more patrons,” said Dr. John Cox – Youngstown Playhouse Board President.

The “Hearts for the Arts” program is designed to distribute tickets for all of the Youngstown Playhouse mainstage shows to a broader part of the community, free of charge.

The program will provide 6,000 tickets to students and families including: 

  • 150 tickets per mainstage shows throughout the 100th season
  • 200 tickets for the mainstage Youth productions
  • 450 students attending each mainstage youth production (Puffs and The Lightening Thief) free of charge
 

The Youngstown Playhouse is also working with the Youngstown City School District, the Beatitude House, the Boys and Girls Club, and local churches to help identify students and families that will benefit from this program. “Something Rotten” opens the 100th season on Friday, Sep. 20th and will run for two weekends with six performances.
