Youngstown, OH (April 6, 2023): The Youngstown Playhouse will present a Youth Theatre production of Newsies Jr. Directed by Savannah Teter, the production will run May 19, 20, and 21, 2023 on The Main Stage.

Disney’s Newsies Jr. is a timeless and powerful story filled with hope and ambition. When a top-notch newspaper publisher raises prices for newsboys’ delivery services, Jack Kelly jumps into action to rally newsies around the city to strike against them. The newsies soon learn they are stronger together as they create a movement to fight for what they deserve.

The creative team is led under the direction of Savannah Teter and includes Caitlyn Santiago (Stage Manager), Adam Dominick (Music Director), Wayne Bonner III (Choreographer) Johnny Pecano (Set Production), Cordell Ramsey (Lighting Designer), Emelia Sherin (Costume Design), and Finn O’Hara (Student Assistant).

Individual tickets are on sale now. Ticket prices for Newsies Jr. are $11 – $17 plus applicable fees. Tickets can be purchased Monday through Friday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm by calling 330-788-8739, or in person at The DeYor Performing Arts Center box office.
